11x14" Acrylic Painting Titled: "Courage"
After a bit of a break from painting due to moving and starting a new beginning in my life, I have decided to get back in with a series. This is the first painting in its series that will have a window showing only a small fraction of whats behind it. In this case, an old barn wall.

We all need courage to break down those old barriers to take us to our new beginnings.

For me in this painting, the red paint stands for courage. The old twigs and roots growing through represents stress with age. The wheel represents a part of time when we needed it. The broken window represents a fraction of what is outside of our barriers. Hopefully we can all use courage to break down our barriers and explore life to the fullest and let the old things go. Some of us may already have, but for sure I have not.

"Where The Beach Meets The Sky" 18x24"

This is truly my first attempt at a beach on canvas. I hope to teach myself more techniques when it comes to these types of paintings, who knew sand could be a bit tricky to define. :) I created a time lapse video of this one as you can watch below.

"The Assateague Lighthouse"

This is a 16 x 20 inch acrylic on canvas painting of the Assateague Lighthouse located on the Virginia portion of Assateague Island. I really wanted to start painting local landmarks so I started it off with a lighthouse. :)

"A Northern Paradise"

This is a 18"x24" Acrylic on canvas painting titled: A Northern Paradise. I painted this scene for my wives grandfather. He said he actually got to see the northern lights once and asked me to try and duplicate a scene. I plan on shipping it out to him on Monday, all the way to Ohio. :)

I'm also in the process of making another speed painting video. I hope to have that posted very soon. :D

This is a painting for my niece "Haylee." She will be celebrating her 5th birthday soon and i'm hoping this will match her new zebra print bedroom. :)

    All settled in.

I've finally settled in my new home. Now hopefully I can get back to painting and focusing on new techniques. I often imagine myself trying a more simple technique with sky lighting, but for some reason I never attempt it because my mind is already set on what i'm doing. I really need to let go this weekend and try something a bit new.
